Description: Millersville University is accepting applications for an Assistant to the Provost. This position has administrative responsibility for overseeing activities within the Office of the Provost relating to office management and budget administration. The Assistant to the Provost provides guidance, interpretation, and administration of faculty employment policies (especially related to the APSCUFCBA) and procedures including hiring and evaluation (including use of Interfolio and Class Climate); Kuali Temporary Faculty Appointment systems; Meet and Discuss communication with APSCUF leadership; grievance and arbitration preparation (including research, investigation and record-keeping for labor relations and legal matters); supervision of the Academic HR Coordinator in support of faculty compensation, evaluation, reappointment, promotion and tenure processes and sabbatical leaves; administration of the faculty grants program; maintenance of official faculty personnel files; Provost’s website maintenance; and serves as the principal liaison between the Office of Academic Affairs, the Office of Human Resources, deans, faculty and departmental administrative staff regarding faculty lifecycle matters.

Required: Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of upper-level administrative/management/supervisory or related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the duties of the position; Ability to: Manage multiple, complex projects at the same time with accuracy and attention to detail, provide customer service and work collaboratively as a resource for diverse groups of people at various levels both internal and external to the university, maintain confidentiality, read, interpret, and implement established policies and procedures, develop and revise, through a collaborative process, policies, and procedures, develop and maintain trusted relationships with a variety of stakeholders including faculty employees and academic administrators, develop written documentation and catalogue information necessary to ensure that the institution has enough information in the event of legal action or grievance processes, use relevant information, established policies, and operational practices to make decisions about routine and non-routine issues; Flexibility, willingness, and ability to pursue and adopt new ideas, information and technology, and process and summarize information; Knowledge of human resource and/or personnel administration business processes; Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills; Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; Evidence of a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion; Successful interview; Successful completion of three background checks.

Preferred: Experience using Banner, Hyperion, D2L, Business Intelligence; Experience converting paper documents/processes to digital.
