Established in 1993, The mission of the Gender & Sexuality Resource Center is to foster an environment that is open, safe, and inclusive for people of all sexualities and gender identities. The Center is a resource not only for the LGBTQ community but for the entire University community. It exists for anyone who is interested in learning about LGBTQ people, issues, and concerns. For the LGBTQ community, the Center provides support for the full inclusion of everyone in the University — including those who experience discrimination or who need support as a member of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender campus community.

Primary Position Function/Summary:
Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Success, Inclusion, and Belonging in Student Affairs, the primary responsibility of this position is to provide summative leadership for the Gender and Sexuality Resource Center (GSRC). This position works with colleagues across campus and the community, including other cultural and resource centers; Student Affairs; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; and academic units to advance student success, intercultural engagement, equity, inclusion, and belonging efforts on campus. Focusing primarily on creating a vibrant and welcoming physical space, a broader sense of belonging, and addressing issues that impact LGBTQI+ students, faculty, and staff at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign through an intersectional lens.
