The position of Security Officer for Millersville University is responsible for the overall safety and security of personnel, students, visitors, and facilities. These responsibilities may further include the providing of security for residence halls from fire, theft, illegal entry, and other violations of State and campus regulations. The incumbent in this position is responsible for keeping a working knowledge of the criminal justice system, law enforcement procedures, report writing, fire safety, and campus regulations. May further be required to apprehend and detain suspects when needed.
