Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):

Bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Five (5) years of management-level experience in fiscal planning and management. Experience developing and analyzing large, complex budget and financial models. Experience with procurement and contracts. Supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree (or foreign equivalent). Additional (6+) years of management-level experience in fiscal planning and management. Experience advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. Experience with an inventory or housing management system, Wolfmart, SUNY BI, CBM and/or PeopleSoft software. Experience working with the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY). Experience with Google Apps and/or Microsoft Suite with advanced proficiency in Excel.

Brief Description of Duties:

The Director of Residential Financial Services serves as a member of the Campus Residences Senior Leadership Team, reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Campus Residences. The Director of Residential Financial Services serves as the liaison between University Finance, Budget and Campus Residences with a dotted line reporting relationship to the Senior Business Partner, Financial Operation for Student Affairs. Campus Residences is a self-supporting unit with an estimated annual operating budget over $100 million per year and collective capital construction budget totaling $200 million. 

The Director provides overall leadership and vision for managing all budget and financial activities for the Campus Residences team that supports 10,700 residents, including Residential Education, Residential Safety and Support, Housing Administration, and Information Systems. They are responsible for all budget development, financial reporting, and forecasting, ensuring that the department complies with requirements set forth by SUNY System Administration and campus leadership. The incumbent participates in strategic discussions, develops policies, and makes recommendations to enhance existing processes and procedures. The incumbent works closely with a variety of internal and external campus constituents, including Campus Operations and Maintenance and Emergency Management. 

The successful incumbent will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, exercising strong organizational, analytical and time management skills with an exceptional attention to detail. Essential for this role is the adeptness to work independently as well as part of a team with a collaborative, creative approach to problem solving.
