Academic Adviser

The Weinberg Dean’s Office of Undergraduate Studies & Advising at Northwestern University seeks to hire two College Advisers with concurrent teaching-track faculty appointments in a Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences department or program at the rank of Assistant Professor of Instruction. Ideal candidates will have experience advising. Primary daily responsibilities include individual meetings with advisees and participation in advising office activities and committees. Advisers typically teach one course per year in their department or program.

We seek to provide holistic advising experiences that prepare all students to become effective learners, contributors, and leaders. By developing long-term advising relationships, we mentor students through all phases of their academic careers. 

Academic advising and related service constitute the primary responsibilities of the position. This is a 10-month, full-time, benefits-eligible position to start September 1, 2027. The initial appointment is three years.
