About This Role

 

The College of Agriculture seeks an Out-of-State Recruiter to serve as the program manager for the College of Agriculture's national recruitment initiatives. This position independently organizes, plans, and leads all aspects of student recruitment activities outside the state of Kansas for the College of Ag. Operating remotely, the recruiter is responsible for designing and refining recruitment plans, managing program resources, directing event logistics, and cultivating external partnerships with schools, organizations, and community stakeholders.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

 

• Develop and manage out-of-state recruitment programs and timelines in alignment with College of Ag enrollment goals.

• Refine recruitment strategies based on market research, demographic shifts, and program performance data.

• Direct financial management of assigned program resources, including travel budgets, contracts, and event-related expenses.

• Conduct ongoing evaluation of recruitment efforts, preparing formal reports and presenting recommendations to leadership.

• Establish measurable outcomes for recruitment initiatives and monitor progress toward goals.

• Coordinate long-term planning for multi-state recruitment pipelines and emerging markets.

• Ensure compliance with university and College of Ag policies, state laws, and professional standards in all recruitment activities.

• Identify and implement new technologies, digital platforms, and outreach methods to enhance recruitment impact.

• Develop and maintain program manuals, planning documents, and communication protocols to support consistency and scalability of recruitment efforts.

• Provide leadership in setting priorities and allocating resources across multiple recruitment projects.

• Independently plan, organize, and execute recruitment events such as college fairs, school visits, information sessions, and community outreach in multiple states.

• Lead all logistics including scheduling, promotion, travel, staffing, and follow-up.

• Ensure professional representation of Kansas State University's College of Agriculture to increase awareness and attract prospective students.

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with high school FFA Advisors, community college advisors, youth organizations, and other stakeholders nationwide as they pertain to Agriculture.

• Collaborate with College of Ag's marketing and admissions to align recruitment messaging and promotional materials.

• Serve as the primary external representative for out-of-state recruitment, building brand recognition and fostering long-term partnerships within the College of Ag.

• Coordinate with regional admissions representative, marketing, and academic departments to ensure consistency in recruitment efforts.

• Track recruitment activities and outcomes; prepare reports and recommendations for leadership.

• May supervise student, temporary, or contract staff supporting recruitment programs.

Worksite Description

 

This position is Remote eligible. All duties of this position will be performed remotely.

 

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.

What You'll Need to Succeed

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

• Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and seven years of relevant experience. Requirements may be met through a combination of work experience and education.

• Valid driver's license

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Relevant experience in recruitment, program/project management, or related fields.

• Strong organizational, event planning, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Experience in higher education recruitment or enrollment management.

• Demonstrated success in program management, including planning, evaluation, and budget oversight.

• Ability to engage effectively with a variety of audiences and build collaborative partnerships.
