About This Role

 

Kansas State Salina seeks applications for a full-time, nine-month faculty member in Communication Studies. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute actively to the Department of Integrated Studies through an anticipated 80% teaching, 10% service, and 10% scholarship load. A successful candidate will be a dynamic educator committed to excellence in teaching, student engagement, and professional development. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in Public Speaking, Interpersonal Communication, and related areas.

 

This position is ideal for a collaborative and student-focused individual who is passionate about helping students become confident communicators in a variety of academic, professional, and social contexts. This may include pre-college students.

What You'll Need to Succeed

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

MA in Communication Studies or closely related field (PhD required for tenure-track position)

 

Excellent written and oral communication skills

 

Evidence of successful teaching in Higher Education

 

Demonstrated ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary and multi-programmatic teams

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

Both in-person and online teaching experience

 

Research interest, experience, or engagement in business/industry communication.

 

Evidence of scholarship of teaching and publication potential

 

Other Requirements:

 

Applicants must meet accreditation credential requirements to teach college courses.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship
