About This Role
The Kansas Child Care Training Opportunities (KCCTO) team, within the College of Health and Human Sciences, is looking to hire a Data Analyst to join their team. This position will be responsible for synthesizing and reporting data available through Cape, the Kansas early childhood care and education workforce registry, housed in a Salesforce environment. Duties include coordinating data requests, building and maintaining reports, identifying workforce needs and conducting analyses, and overseeing data security and quality. The position reports to KCCTO's Assistant Director of Workforce Systems.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
• Generate reports to fulfill specific data requests or needs
• Prepare reports for a wide range of audiences, presenting aggregated data in support of workforce development and improvement efforts (i.e., annual workforce report for the state, National Workforce Registry Alliance [NWRA] Partners in Employment Reporting [PER] participation)
• Provide technical support and guidance to organizations using Cape in developing and refining their data reports, ensuring accuracy and relevance to their specific needs
• Collaborate with state partners to leverage data to identify workforce strengths, gaps, and needs, contributing to initiatives that enhance service quality, workforce policy, and funding strategies
• Conduct data analyses using statistical software to identify trends, including longitudinal trends over time, to inform program, policy, and funding questions and decisions
• Develop data quality rules and standards for consistent cleaning
• Monitor implementation of best practices for data management, including validation, cleaning, and quality control processes
• Ensure data security is in alignment with Data Trust protocols, maintaining compliance with relevant data privacy and security standards
• Develop and maintain process for data requests, intake, and dissemination
• Communicate with data requesters to determine data needs and data availability while considering the functionality of the data system
About Us
Kansas Child Care Training Opportunities, Inc. (KCCTO) is a state-wide training office dedicated to providing quality, accessible, professional development opportunities to family childcare providers, childcare center staff, and other early education professionals throughout Kansas. KCCTO is a sponsored project of Kansas State University and the College of Health and Human Sciences. The mission of KCCTO is to ensure high-quality early education and care through professional development and support for those who work with and on behalf of young children. KCCTO is the current contracted agency by the Kansas Department for Children and Families (DCF) for the Infant-Toddler Specialist Network, the Early Childhood Workforce Professional Development Program, and the workforce registry, Cape.
The College of Health and Human Sciences is home to six academic departments (Applied Human Sciences; Food, Nutrition, Dietetics & Health; Hospitality Management; Interior Design & Fashion Studies; Personal Financial Planning; and Kinesiology), the Center on Aging, Physician Assistant program, and a Nursing partnership with Wichita State University. This position is eligible for a hybrid or remote work agreement.

What You'll Need to Succeed
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree
• Three years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree
• Experience using statistical software
• Experience with online databases (preferably Salesforce)
• Experience with large data sets
• Experience preparing and communicating data to internal and external parties
• Experience with reports and dashboards, including those with programmatic, informative, and evaluative functions
