About This Role

 

Create and provide content to strategically communicate the value and impacts of K-State Research and Extension programs and research findings/efforts to the public, especially the agriculture industry in Kansas and surrounding states.

 

• Support developing and producing printed and digital media communication for K-State Research and Extension, College of Agriculture and associated departments.

• Contribute to the unit's media relations strategy by helping to plan and carry out relations with state, regional and national media, as outlined in the plan.

• Create content to strategically market the essential research, outreach, and educational programs of the College of Agriculture and K-State Research and Extension, including print pieces, quarterly publications and legislative reports.

• Plan, record, edit and post-produce content that contributes to a daily, half-hour radio program for K-State Research and Extension and the College of Agriculture.

• Create and develop content that promotes the work of researchers and extension professionals, attract listeners to partner radio stations and university digital channels, and convert scientific information for appropriate audience levels.

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Bachelor's degree. This position may use an educational equivalency as determined relevant by a hiring manager.

Preferred Qualifications:

 

• Degree in advertising, marketing, communication, or related field.

• Agricultural background or agriculture-based work experience.

• One to three years of professional experience in tactical marketing and brand management.

• Experience developing and executing strategic and/or promotional multi-media campaigns.

• Experience crafting engaging content for promotional materials, websites, and social media platforms.

• Proficiency in recording, editing, and producing high-quality audio and short-form videos.

• Ability to capture and edit audio content for digital platforms.

• Ability to manage multiple content projects, meet deadlines, and coordinate with team members and clientele.

• Experience ensuring consistency in content across platforms.
