About This Role:

The Veterinary Health Center (VHC) within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a Dispensary Inventory Associate to join our dedicated team to help facilitate exemplary patient care and quality customer service. This position is responsible for providing assistance with daily operations of the Kansas State University Health Center Dispensary. A primary mission of the Veterinary Health Center is to provide medical services for teaching, research, and clients within the surrounding area. The Dispensary is critical to providing medications to support this mission.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma
• Two years experience in human or veterinary pharmacy

Preferred Qualifications:

• Licensed Pharmacy Technician in the State of Kansas, or ability to be licensed in the state of Kansas
• Medical field training
• Inventory management experience
• Quickbooks experience
• Ability to be responsible, reliable, and to demonstrate initiative and leadership traits so that dispensing pharmaceuticals is accomplished in a professional manner.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment on evaluating situations and making decisions.

Other Requirements:

• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) within 12 months of appointment.
• Must be a Registered Pharmacy Technician with the Kansas State Board of Pharmacy or be able to obtain registration upon beginning employment.

This position frequently involves light work, including walking and standing while retrieving and dispensing pharmaceuticals and sedentary work while performing data entry. Occasional periods of medium work are required while assisting with freight deliveries, stocking from large packing boxes of pharmaceuticals/supplies, formulating/dispensing large containers of fluids/powders, and daily/monthly cleaning assignments. Walking, sitting, standing, climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and hand dexterity are necessary to perform various tasks associated with this work area. Hearing is necessary to send and receive phone orders and sight is necessary to read medical order requests, locate correct pharmaceutical items from inventory, and type accurate dispensing labels. Ambulation without any aids is necessary in order to maintain sterility in compounding areas.
